LaSalle Network is Hiring an Instructional Designer Near Chicago, IL

LaSalle Network is partnering with a software company to identify an Instructional Designer to join their team. This individual will apply adult learning principles to analyze, design and develop blended learning content. This role will be responsible for designing and developing a gamified, blended learning experience that incorporates application-based design. This is a 2-month contract position that can be performed 100% remotely.

Instructional Designer Responsibilities:

  • Determine and recommend the proper approach to design, develop and implement learning deliverables
  • Plan, organize and create training materials, programs and/or curricula to meet specific business objectives
  • Create learning activities that are congruent with learning objectives
  • Collaborate with SMEs to gather and analyze relevant content and to clarify learning objectives
  • Meet project goals/milestones based on identified business needs/timelines and obtain appropriate approvals
  • Apply knowledge of appropriate tools and resources used to develop training content including Articulate Storyline, Rise, MS PowerPoint, Camtasia, Adobe Illustrator, etc.
  • Write scripts and talking points for eLearning modules and videos
  • Write supporting materials for learning activities such as agendas, schedules, quick reference guides, FAQs, handouts, job aids, trainer and participant guides
  • Incorporate graphics, video or photography to support course development
  • Manage complex projects

Instructional Designer Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Communications or related field or equivalent work experience
  • Master's Degree in Instructional Design, Communications or related field preferred
  • 5 years' experience developing eLearning projects including storyboarding
  • Computer skills including strong aptitude with web-based applications and expertise in MS PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of training and development practices and methods including needs assessment and instruction design for blended training
  • Expertise in designing gamified learning experiences and scenario-based and application-based learning
  • Knowledge of learning theories and principles including adult learning theory
  • Ability to organize with strong project management skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a creative team
  • Professional written and verbal communication skills
  • Attention to detail and analytical skills
  • Proficiency in Articulate Storyline and Rise
  • Expertise in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
  • Ability to develop meaningful assessments as part of a larger program
