They are seeking a skilled Interim Accounting Manager to oversee their accounting operations. The Interim Accounting Manager would report directly into the Controller.

As the Interim Accounting Manager, you will play a crucial role in managing and maintaining our client's financial records, ensuring accuracy, compliance and efficiency in their accounting processes. You will lead a team of accounting professionals and collaborate closely with cross-functional departments to support strategic initiatives and achieve our organizational goals. This is anticipated to be a six-month engagement with the possibility of an extension.

Interim Accounting Manager Responsibilities:

• Delegate, review and approve work of two staff accountants and two senior accountants
• Develop and maintain financial reporting processes to provide timely and accurate financial information to management and stakeholders
• Monitor key financial metrics and provide insights to support decision-making
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and accounting standards
• Establish and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and mitigate financial risks
• Coordinate with external auditors and tax advisors during audits and tax filings
• Supervise and mentor accounting staff, providing guidance, training and performance feedback
• Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability and continuous improvement within the accounting team
• Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and enhance efficiency through automation and technology solutions
• Implement best practices and standardized procedures to optimize financial operations

Interim Accounting Manager Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required
• CPA certification preferred
• 5 years of progressive experience in accounting, with at least two years in a supervisory role
• Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting and internal controls
• Proficiency in mid-range accounting software (ideally SAGE but open to NetSuite, SAP, or similar) and Microsoft Excel
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving and communication skills
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively
