Responsibilities:
- Oversee the daily operations of the medical records department
- Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and confidentiality of patient medical records
- Develop and implement policies and procedures for record management and retention
- Train and supervise staff on proper recordkeeping practices
- Monitor compliance with regulatory requirements and standards
- Coordinate with other departments to facilitate the retrieval and exchange of medical records
- Maintain electronic health record systems and ensure data integrity
- Assist with audits and quality improvement initiatives
Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a medical office setting
- Strong knowledge of medical records management principles and practices
- Proficiency in medical terminology and coding systems (e.g., ICD-10, CPT)
- Familiarity with electronic health record systems and document imaging software
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy in recordkeeping
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
