Latitude Legal is Hiring an Employment Attorney Near Washington, DC

Employment Attorney (DC Engagement)Latitude is seeking experienced an employment attorney for a long-term engagement with one of its large corporate clients. Applicants must have 5 years of experience counseling employers in a full range of federal, state, and local employment laws, litigation, wage and hour compliance, employment agreements, collective bargaining disputes, and unlawful discrimination claims. Prior experience working in-house is required and experience in the labor and employment practice group of an Am Law 200 firm, a sophisticated labor and employment boutique firm, and/or a large corporate legal department is preferred.
Basic Requirements for the Employment Attorney (DC Engagement):
  • 5 years of experience practicing employment law
  • Prior experience providing L&E counsel in-house preferred
  • Excellent academic credentials from an ABA-accredited law school
  • Excellent analytical, written, verbal and interpersonal skills
  • Licensed to practice law in state of residence
  • Outstanding professional references
Position Details of the Employment Attorney (DC Engagement):
  • Type of role: Contract In-House Counsel
  • Schedule: Full-time beginning December, for 5-6 months
  • Location: 5 days on site in DC office
Compensation:Pay : The annualized pay for this position ranges from $160,000 to $190,000 or more when calculated on a full-time basis. Pay for contract engagements is based on multiple factors including but not limited to work experience, qualifications, credentials, location, market supply/demand, and the candidate’s preference (each candidate’s pay rate affects the client bill rate which can affect the candidate’s competitiveness for the position).
Benefits : In addition to pay, all Latitude Attorneys and other legal professionals working on contract engagements receive complimentary professional liability insurance coverage. All Latitude employees (including those on contract engagements) are also eligible for full benefits when working 20 hours per week, including group medical, dental, and vision insurance, and complimentary group life, LTD and AD&D insurance. A qualified 401k plan is also available. Benefits-eligible Latitude Attorneys also receive a CLE and Professional Expense stipend.
