Responsibilities:
Financial Management: Oversee all accounting operations, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, general ledger, and financial reporting. Ensure timely and accurate financial statements.
Internal Controls: Develop and implement internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the accuracy and reliability of financial information. Conduct periodic reviews and audits to assess compliance with established controls.
Budgeting and Forecasting: Lead the annual budgeting process and prepare financial forecasts. Provide analysis and insights to support strategic decision-making and financial planning.
Financial Reporting: Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports to executive management and stakeholders. Ensure compliance with GAAP, regulatory requirements, and internal policies.
Cash Management: Monitor and manage cash flow, banking relationships, and investment activities. Optimize the company's liquidity and working capital to meet operational and strategic needs.
Tax Compliance: Oversee the preparation and filing of federal, state, and local tax returns. Ensure compliance with tax regulations and work with external tax advisors as needed.
Audit Coordination: Coordinate and manage external audits, ensuring timely and accurate completion. Address auditor inquiries and implement recommendations for improving financial processes.
Team Leadership: Lead and mentor the accounting team, providing guidance, training, and development opportunities. Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
Policy Development: Develop and update accounting policies and procedures to ensure consistency and compliance with best practices. Communicate and enforce policies across the organization.
Strategic Initiatives: Support executive management with financial analysis and insights for strategic initiatives, mergers and acquisitions, and other business opportunities. Participate in special projects as required.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or CMA certification is highly preferred.
7 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls.
Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
