Latitude is Hiring an Instructional Designer Near Woodlawn, MD

Responsibilities:
Needs Assessment: Conduct needs assessments to identify learning objectives and performance gaps. Analyze target audience characteristics and educational needs to inform the design and development of instructional materials.
Instructional Design: Develop instructional strategies and design learning experiences that align with learning objectives and educational best practices. Create detailed instructional design documents, storyboards, and prototypes for review and feedback.
Content Development: Design and develop engaging and interactive instructional materials, including e-learning modules, instructor-led training (ILT) materials, job aids, assessments, and multimedia content. Utilize authoring tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate) to create e-learning content.
Curriculum Development: Design comprehensive curricula for educational programs, including course outlines, lesson plans, and training schedules. Ensure alignment with organizational goals, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
Assessment and Evaluation: Develop assessment tools to measure learning outcomes and evaluate the effectiveness of instructional materials. Conduct formative and summative evaluations to gather feedback and make data-driven improvements to learning experiences.
Multimedia Integration: Integrate multimedia elements, such as graphics, animations, videos, and audio, into instructional materials to enhance learner engagement and comprehension. Collaborate with multimedia specialists to produce high-quality content.
Technology Integration: Leverage learning management systems (LMS) and other educational technologies to deliver and track learning experiences. Ensure compatibility and accessibility of instructional materials across various platforms and devices.
Collaboration: Work closely with subject matter experts (SMEs), instructors, and other stakeholders to gather content, review materials, and ensure accuracy and relevance of instructional content. Facilitate collaboration and communication throughout the design and development process.
Continuous Improvement: Stay current with trends and advancements in instructional design, educational technology, and adult learning theory. Participate in professional development activities and incorporate new methodologies and technologies into instructional design practices.
Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of instructional design processes, project plans, and development timelines. Ensure instructional materials are organized and easily accessible for future use and updates.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, or related field. Master’s degree is a plus.
3 years of experience in instructional design, e-learning development, or a related role.
Proficiency in e-learning authoring tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate, Camtasia) and graphic design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite).
Strong understanding of instructional design models (e.g., ADDIE, SAM) and adult learning principles.
Experience with learning management systems (LMS) and educational technologies.
Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills.
Strong project management and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
Knowledge of accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG) and best practices for inclusive design.
Certification in instructional design or related field (e.g., CPTD, APTD) is a plus.
