Latitude is Hiring a Manufacturing Engineer Near Melbourne, FL

Salary: $100,000 - 130,000/year
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Manufacturing Process Engineer to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a key role in developing, optimizing, and maintaining manufacturing processes to ensure efficiency, quality, and safety in our production operations. The primary focus will be on process creation, mapping, and continuous improvement to drive innovation and enhance overall productivity.
Responsibilities
  • Process Development:
  • Design, develop, and implement manufacturing processes and procedures for new products or improvements to existing ones
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including design engineering, production, quality assurance, and supply chain to ensure seamless integration of processes
  • Process Mapping and Optimization:
  • Conduct detailed process mapping and analysis to identify areas for improvement, inefficiencies, and opportunities for optimization
  • Utilize Lean and Six Sigma methodologies to streamline processes, reduce waste, and improve overall efficiency
  • Quality Assurance:
  • Work closely with quality assurance teams to establish and maintain quality standards throughout the manufacturing process
  • Implement robust quality control measures to ensure products meet or exceed customer specifications and regulatory requirements
  • Continuous Improvement:
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to drive cost savings, enhance productivity, and improve overall operational performance
  • Regularly monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement corrective actions as needed to achieve operational targets
  • Documentation and Training:
  • Develop comprehensive documentation including process instructions, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and training materials
  • Provide training and guidance to production personnel to ensure adherence to established processes and best practices
  • Technical Support:
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting expertise to resolve production issues and optimize equipment performance
  • Collaborate with maintenance teams to implement preventive maintenance programs and minimize downtime
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, or related field) required; Master’s degree preferred
  • Proven experience in manufacturing process engineering, preferably in a production environment
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, techniques, and methodologies
  • Proficiency in process mapping tools such as Visio or Lucidchart, as well as statistical analysis software (e.g., Minitab)
  • Familiarity with Lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma methodologies, and continuous improvement techniques
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to quality and safety
