Laughlin Constable is Hiring a Media Director Near Chicago, IL

We are looking for a Media Director to oversee a group of clients – including one of the agency’s largest clients in the Healthcare category.

The Media Director manages the strategy and planning across all online and offline channels for the assigned clients. The Director is a leader who develops and executes strategic media solutions, builds solid relationships with clients across all levels and functions, and is able to manage, lead, and develop their internal team while also playing an active “hands-on” role in the deployment of strategic plans. The Media Director should also be fiscally accountable ensuring proper budget management and should also work to grow Laughlin Constable revenue through organic client growth as well as supporting and participating in New Business pitches as needed.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Strong leadership presence and client management skills – advancing the client relationship by establishing trust and maintaining positive rapport
  • Lead thinking to inspire innovative solutions, creativity and a proactive approach
  • Ensures the team delivers sound strategic media recommendations based on a clear understanding of client objectives
  • Work closely with Account and Strategy team to maintain understanding of client’s business and identify opportunities for organic growth
  • Oversee activation of plan deliverables – ensuring activation Specialists are aligned with media strategy and are well versed with knowledge of client’s business
  • Seek new media solutions to deliver on clients’ goals and evaluate current health of client business via analysis of relevant business metrics (e.g ROI)
  • Manage professional team growth by instilling media principles, administering performance reviews and guiding team’s development of career goals and strategies
  • Develop internal and external processes and cadence for streamlined and timely workflow
  • Drive Innovation and Thought Leadership agenda both as a new business asset but equally within the agency to drive modern marketing solutions for our clients.
  • Work with analytics and research teams to identify/apply learnings and the investment and operations teams to ensure flawless implementation
  • Apply your experience to elevate strategic thinking across the portfolio and set appropriate learning agenda elements
  • Write and deliver strategies and POV’s as well as oversee the translation of these strategies into the final audience recommendations/plans
  • Provide vision, direction, management and support to individuals within the team to ensure their work aligns with our mission and goals
  • Participate in new business efforts as needed – both as team support as well as pitch lead (depending on situation)

Preferred Skills & Experience:

  • Minimum 7 years of experience developing strategic media recommendations
  • New business experience – both supporting a team as well as leading new business efforts
  • Strong Leadership skills and experience developing a team of media professionals
  • Experience in a client relationship management role
  • Familiar with marketing principles and problem solving and analytics
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) & Keynote
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong presentation skills

EDUCATION/WORK REQUIREMENTS:

  • 5 years of experience with digital operations processes in media, advertising, or marketing
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering or a related field of study
  • Experience working with/at media agency or media department
