Job Summary:The Federal Protective Service (FPS), Financial Management Operations (FMO) has a need to acquire specialized expertise to directly support FMO with resource planning & programming, data integrity & analysis, financial reporting & analysis, revenue, accounting operations, auditing, and other business operations activities considered mission critical. Base Salary:$135,000 - $140,000/Annually Responsibilities/Duties:
Develop, advise on, and/or implement major policy and system changes affecting accounting programs
Analyzes and interprets accounting data and reports and performs financial analyses, forecasts, and evaluations
Provide expert advice to program managers and senior executive officials
Review and interpret new legislation, regulations, directives, and guidelines affecting assigned programs
Review and provide advice on the accuracy of data produced by accounting systems and service provider and assists with the reconciliation of system outputs to other accounting systems and subsystems
Provide advice on planning and implementation of internal controls to ensure integrity and the accuracy and completeness of the financial
Qualifications:
Minimum of four years of related work experience
Must have working knowledge of Federal Financial Regulations
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
Ability to read and interpret management policy, regulations, standards, and directives
Ability to work effectively within a group or independently
Ability to effectively manage several projects or multiple requests at one time
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and SharePoint Education/Certifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, business, operations research, management, computer science, or related discipline with sufficient credits to meet Certified Public Accountant licensing qualifications
Master’s Degree is desired/preferred
CPA, CGFM, or CDFM is desired/preferred
