Description:
He/She shall be hired and report directly to the County Fire Coordinator.
*Performs duties relating to coordinating all personnel and activities of the rural fire departments within his/her division.
*May assist with departmental training.
*Provide a comprehensive department activity report to the County Fire Coordinator at each monthly staff meeting.
*Recommends equipment improvements.
*Directs the preparation and analysis of file records and reports.
*Responds to alarms and coordinates firefighting operations with the IC.
*Assists with pre-fire plans and inspections.
*Coordinates mutual aid agreements with surrounding agencies.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
*Knowledge of the principles, practices, procedures, and equipment used in modern firefighting.
*Knowledge of effective methods of planning, training, assigning, and directing personnel and equipment for fire protection.
*Ability to establish and maintain working relationship with rural fire department personnel, civic organizations, and the general public.
*Knowledge of local government operations.
*Knowledge of recent developments in fire and emergency management operations.
*Other duties as may be deemed necessary by the County Fire/Emergency Management Coordinator.
Requirements:Qualifications:
Must possess at least eight years of firefighting experience, including experience in fire operations, rescue, and suppression. High school diploma or GED, NFPA Firefighter 2, Medical 1st responder, Haz-Mat Tech, Basic fire investigations (preferred), Emergency Vehicle Drivers Training, Pumper Operations, and (at a minimum) current SC (class E) driver's license.
The candidate must possess strong interpersonal skills, experience working within a combination paid-volunteer organization, knowledge and experience working within ICS/NIMS, and the ability to organize groups and individuals to achieve a unified goal.
