Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Family Law Paralegal to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will have experience in legal case management, drafting legal documents, and providing support in family law matters.
Established Family Law and Juvenile Dependency Law firm seeking to add a paralegal for legal and administrative support. Duties will be approximately half billable, half admin, to include:
- Drafting client declarations and pleading forms
- Light legal research
- Document review from discovery responses
- Drafting subpoenas and other discovery
- Drafting orders and notices
- Following up with potential new clients to set up consultations
- Checking attorney portal to keep digital files current, scanning, and preparing physical files on occasion
- E-filing documents
- Assist attorney with entering billable time and preparing invoices
- Calendaring deadlines, hearing dates, birthday cards, thank you cards

1 year of Family Law Experience is required. Ideal candidate will demonstrate ability to work independently after training.

Responsibilities:
- Assist attorneys in preparing legal documents such as pleadings, motions, and correspondence
- Manage and organize case files and documentation
- Conduct legal research and analysis on family law issues
- Communicate with clients, courts, and other parties involved in cases
- Schedule appointments, court dates, and meetings
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
Experience:
- Strong clerical skills with attention to detail
- Proficiency in legal case management software
- Experience in drafting legal documents
- Ability to write clearly and concisely
- Familiarity with filing procedures in family law cases
- Knowledge of project management principles in a legal setting
- Data entry proficiency
- Experience with Clio Management Software is preferred
