Exciting opportunity for a college graduate to gain valuable work experience in a fast-paced plaintiff's personal injury practice in Belltown, Seattle. Since the office is a two person law firm, with a small staff, you will be exposed to a wide variety of tasks which include interfacing with opposing counsel, clients, and insurance adjusters on the phone and by email or letter, scheduling depositions, sending out notices of depositions, scheduling conferences with clients, attorneys, and medical doctors, organizing medical records and arbitration/trial exhibits, answering phones, opening and scanning mail, digital filing, setting up new client files, taking notes at medical meetings, maintaining client lists detailing status of client's medical treatment, proof and edit legal pleadings and other documents, sending out interrogatories and other pleadings, and a wide variety of other tasks. The successful candidate must be a self-starter. This is a high-paced and demanding job and you must have the ability to work efficiently under time constraints and under a heavy work load. Since this is a small office, you must be a team player, and have a cordial and positive personality. There is writing and editing involved so you must have excellent writing and editing skills. Strong organizational skills are a must. You will gain hands-on experience in litigation, and be exposed to the functioning of a plaintiff's personal injury law firm and practice.
