Description:

We are a three attorney civil litigation firm in San Rafael specializing in a surety bond defense practice. We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Associate Attorney to join our legal team. As an Associate Attorney, you will work closely with our senior attorneys to provide legal support and representation to our clients. This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated individual who is passionate about the law and is looking to grow their career in a dynamic legal environment.

We prefer at least one year of civil litigation experience or many more as the case may be, and are open to training a new admittee in surety law if they are so motivated. The position is part-time with flexible hours and the opportunity to work remotely if so desired. We can guarantee 15-20 hours a week with the opportunity for much more if so desired. The position is ideal for a working parent or someone with their own practice in which they can use our infrastructure, e.g., desktop computer, printer, scanner, etc. This is an easy-going office atmosphere with little drama (we do care about our clients). We do take pride in our practice but realize life exists outside the practice of law.

Responsibilities:

- Conduct legal research and analysis on various legal issues

- Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, contracts, and agreements

- Assist with case management and preparation for trials and hearings

- Attend client meetings, depositions, and court proceedings

- Collaborate with senior attorneys to develop case strategies and provide legal advic

- Conduct negotiations on behalf of clients

- Maintain accurate and organized case files

Qualifications:

- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school

- Admission to the California Bar

- Strong knowledge of legal principles and procedures

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

- Proficient in legal research using platforms such as Westlaw

- Ability to draft clear and concise legal documents

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills
