The Rural Health Clinic Nurse (RN) works closely with the Rural Health Clinic Staff and Providers (all Physicians and Nurse Practitioners of the Rural Health Clinic). The RN possesses excellent clinical skills and interpersonal skills to benefit the patients of the Rural Health Clinic.

Essential Functions of this position are as follows:

• Assist patients to exam rooms;
• Complete medical history on patients;
• Gather vital signs and medical history on patients;
• Assist providers with exams and/or procedures as requested by the providers;
• Clean exam rooms between patients;
• Call in refills on new prescriptions;
• Telephone triage;
• Chronic Care Management;
• Medicare Wellness;
• Arrange follow-up appointments with specialists as directed by providers;
• Complete insurance pre-certifications;
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Current Illinois Registered Nurse License;
• Working knowledge of computer programs, such as Outlook, Microsoft Word and Excel;
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to quickly grasp new ideas and new approaches; and
• Ability to interact with LCHD employees and the public in an efficient, friendly, cooperative, confidential and professional manner and to ensure great customer service is provided to everyone at all times.

Requirements:

• Extended periods of sitting/time spent at office desk'
• Occasional periods of standing;
• Must be able to complete required documentation;
• Occasional lifting of up to 30 lbs.
