We are committed to ensuring that our students, who have for too long been under-served, are provided with a high-quality, free, public education at their local, district schools.Lawrence High School is seeking exceptional teachers to join our team who possess a growth mindset, value collaboration and continuous feedback, are passionate about their content, and have an unwavering belief that all students are capable of meeting rigorous academic expectations.Core Duties and Responsibilities:- Teach 5 sections of rigorously planned high school ELA; may also include Advanced Placement level- Work collaboratively to align curriculum to the rigor of the MA Curriculum Frameworks- Implement common assessments that measure progress towards academic standards- Use data from formative and summative assessments to inform instruction- Meet weekly with a grade-level content team and an interdisciplinary team.- Collaborate with Special Education and ESL teachers to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all students- Participate in biweekly instructional coaching sessions to improve instructional practices.- Communicate weekly with students and families around academic and behavioral progress.Desired Skills and Characteristics of a LHS teacher:- Commitment to the academic and personal success of Lawrence Public Schools’ students and families- Proven experience supporting English Language Learners- Ability to take initiative and succeed in a fast-paced school environment while remaining calm and focused when faced with unexpected challenges- Demonstrated capacity to create and maintain a positive learning environment in which students’ diverse backgrounds, identities, strengths, and challenges are respected and utilized.- Willing to improve practice by taking and implementing frequent feedback- Humility and a good sense of humor
