ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY

Our Special Projects division is seeking a skilled Project Manager to oversee multiple fast-moving projects. As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the success of our projects, managing financials, coordinating labor, negotiating contracts, and fostering relationships with customers, vendors and subcontractors. This position requires exceptional written and oral communication skills, a keen attention to detail, and the ability to navigate complex technical documents. You must be able to effectively manage multiple projects at once, while keeping a level head and responding to changes as necessary. The Project Manager will represent the image of the company and shall take the opportunity to exude a high level of professionalism and expertise daily.

Project Management Overview:

Perform all project management functions required to promote and finalize contract sales including; conducting customer needs analysis, collaborate with engineering to generate conceptual design, completion of estimates & proposals. Successful management of contracts, sales cycles, estimating, procurement, and execution.

Oversee forecasting initiatives by leveraging budget forecasts. Regulate expenses via effective labor and procurement management. Offer documentation such as letters, proposals, contracts, change orders, strategies, etc., to ensure sound business practices and legal safeguards.

Business Development & Relationship Management:

Nurture robust connections with every stakeholder, encompassing customers, vendors, subcontractors, and colleagues. Supervise all customer-centric activities, spanning Engineering, Purchasing, Accounting, Construction, and Service, throughout project construction promptly, aiming to uphold high levels of customer contentment. Ensure continuous communication and follow up through the life of the project and post completion to ensure repeat business and referrals.

Utilize internal resources to fullest extent. The Project Manager utilizes and coordinates staff from all departments, as needed, for each project. During the life of a project, the Project Manager manages and supervises employees assigned to the project.

General Tasks Include:

  • Manage customer relationships and ensure overall project success and client satisfaction.
  • Uncover new opportunities with new and existing customers.
  • Facilitate the flow of information and oversee project development from initial vetted sales opportunity through estimating and/or engineering.
  • Demonstrate an ability to develop new business.
  • Visit construction projects and navigate uneven terrain; use stairs, ladders, and construction elevators; maneuver in and around pipe work and ductwork; safely work in compliance with OSHA safety guidelines on all construction sites (including required PPE).
  • Conduct project rollout, kick-off and post-construction meetings with crew and internal staff.
  • Ensure project delivery complies with contract documents.
  • Work directly and coordinate project tasks with our field team members.
  • Review subcontractor/vendor scope and submittals to identify potential discrepancies and/or scope gaps.
  • Manage and coordinate with internal departments, subcontractors, vendors and customers.
  • Work with field foreman to generate RFI’s and schedule all necessary walks and meetings.
  • Negotiate and review subcontracts and purchase order agreements.
  • Forecast and manage labor, material, supplier, and subcontractor costs.
  • Price, prepare, and negotiate change orders.
  • Organize and track project financials and billings.
  • Model teamwork by effectively collaborating with others to achieve shared objectives, offering support, encouragement, and transparent communication in a genuine and accessible manner.
  • Act as mentor to others, actively participate in recruiting, training, coaching.
  • Involvement in industry-based or community-based organizations.
  • Other duties and special assignments as directed by management to accomplish agreed upon objectives.

  • Ability to navigate spreadsheets and manipulate formulas in Excel.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents including equipment product data, scope documents, and drawings.
  • Proven experience in strategic planning and risk management.
  • Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Eagerness to learn and grow with the division.
  • Foster and maintain a positive team environment.
  • Ability to present a professional image and represent the goals and image of the company. Business casual attire while in the office and during customer meetings and site visits.
  • Ability to Persevere. Must demonstrate commitment to achieve difficult goals despite adversity.
  • Problem Solving. Demonstrate the ability to gather and identify information that suggests new possibilities.

EDUCATION

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Construction Management or equivalent industry experience.

Technical and general leadership and entrepreneurial courses a plus.
