POSITION SUMMARY: The Back of House (BOH) Shift Lead assists the Kitchen Manager in overseeing the daily operations of Laziza Mediterranean Grill’s BOH staff. As the BOH Shift Lead, you will assist with overseeing food preparation, monitoring inventory levels, and jumping in to assist the BOH team when needed. Starting pay $15-20/hour with monthly bonus potential per month after 3 months. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Foster an environment of mutual respect and teamwork
Work alongside the Kitchen Manager to supervise and evaluate all BOH employees
Train new kitchen employees and oversee their ongoing development
Oversee food preparation and portioning, the cooking process, and ticket times, and be prepared to jump in and assist the cooks as is needed
Ensure food is prepared according to recipe, following Laziza quality and presentation standards
Ensure all hot and cold food products are kept within safe temperature zones
Ensure the kitchen is clean and organized, establishing and enforcing a weekly and monthly cleaning schedule to be followed by the BOH team members, including deep cleaning tasks
Establish and enforce opening/closing procedures and a check-out system for BOH team members to ensure kitchen cleanliness standards and appropriate stock levels are met
Enforce rotation procedures to ensure there is not an overstock of product
Create and regularly monitor a waste sheet
Assist the Kitchen Manager in monitoring inventory levels and perform weekly inventory assessments to prevent over/under-stocking; calculate food cost
Store all food products in compliance with health and safety regulations, ensuring proper freezer/cooler temperatures are being maintained and rotation procedures are being followed
Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
This position does not have any specific education or experience requirements
ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL FUNCTIONS:
Must have the ability/stamina to work a minimum of 40 hours a week.
Ability to stand/walk for 10 hours per day.
Must be able to lift and carry up to 80 lbs.
Will frequently reach, bend, lift, carry, stoop, fine manipulation throughout the shift.
Must be able to work in both warm and cold environments.
Must be able to tolerate higher levels of noise from kitchen machinery, music, and customers.
Must be able to tolerate potential allergens: peanut products, egg, dairy, gluten, soy, and seafood
UNIFORM:
Employees are expected to present themselves in a neat, clean, professional manner. This includes wearing a clean uniform, good personal hygiene, clean well-trimmed nails, and no gum chewing while on duty.
