RV Painter/Body Shop Technician

Lazydays RV of Ft. Pierce is actively seeking an RV Painter/Body Shop Tech to add to our growing Service Department! The ideal candidate would come to work each day prepared to adequately prep, prime and paint RVs to customer satisfaction and manufacturer specifications. Additional requirements will include assisting in all inquiries and quotes for paint requests to Service Manager and other supporting department members.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The RV Body Shop Painter is responsible for painting and body repair of RVs in our service shop.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Inspect RVs to assess the extent of damage to body panels, frames, windows, roofs, and other structural components.

• Document findings and provide accurate cost estimates for repair work.

• Repair or replace damaged windows, doors, hatches, and other components as needed.

• Address mechanical and electrical issues, collaborating with other technicians as required.

• Ensure all repairs meet industry standards and safety regulations.

• Prepare surfaces for painting by sanding, priming, and masking.

• Apply paint using various techniques, ensuring a smooth and consistent finish.

• Blend paint colors to match the existing RV finish.

• Apply clear coats and finishes to protect the painted surfaces.

• Conduct thorough post-repair inspections to ensure all repairs meet quality standards.

• Maintain detailed records of repairs, parts used, labor hours, and other relevant information.

• Provide accurate and clear reports to customers and management regarding repair work, timelines, and costs.

• Communicate effectively with customers to explain the repair process, address their concerns, and provide updates on the status of their RV.

• Offer recommendations for preventative maintenance to extend the life of the RV and prevent future issues.

• Adhere to all safety guidelines and protocols while working with potentially hazardous materials, tools, and equipment.

• Stay updated on industry trends, techniques, and regulations related to RV repairs.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

• High school diploma or equivalent; vocational or technical training in automotive repair or a related field is preferred.

• Proven experience painting RVs or similar large body units

• Proficiency in using various hand and power tools for bodywork, painting, and repairs.

• Strong understanding of vehicle mechanics, electrical systems, and plumbing.

• Knowledge of welding techniques and frame alignment is a plus.

• Attention to detail and the ability to produce high-quality work.

• Excellent problem-solving and diagnostic skills.

• Effective communication skills for interacting with customers and colleagues.

• Physical stamina and dexterity to work in various positions and environments.

• Ability to follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area.
