Armada’s technology was created to enable a massive addressable market of electric resistance water heaters as grid interactive devices, meeting growing electric grid demand for renewables firming, economic load shaping, and peak load management.
As a U.S. invented and developed technology company, Armada has deployed market validating programs and scaled device populations with some of the largest utilities and multifamily property owners in the United States. This history serves as the foundation for scaling the commercial phase of the business. We are seeking experienced professionals in demand side energy solutions, supply side economics, grid services, utility program development, and multi-family real estate to play key roles in driving Armada’s growth.

Position Summary
Armada is searching for an experienced business development and sales leader and an energy and utility solutions domain native who is accustomed to selling with a consultative approach.
This role will be responsible for driving new sales and closing deals in a rapidly evolving and increasingly competitive environment.
This is an opportunity to leverage your leadership, utility, energy and grid services domain experience in a relationship focused, market-facing role, engaging with premiere customers and partners. This role requires a unique blend of business development, relationship-management, and operational skills.
The Utility Sales Executive will be a high impact contributor to Armada’s top and bottom-line, pursuing investor-backed scale objectives, and participating in our success through a competitive base salary, benefits, and variable compensation package.

Responsibilities

  • Build and manage a robust sales pipeline and sales processes in alignment with Armada’s growth strategy, customer targets, and product roadmap
  • Develop strategic and tactical plans for deal origination through investor-owned utilities, municipal utilities, electric co-ops, partnerships, and industry associations
  • Demonstrate domain expertise, industry credibility, thought leadership, and command of the sales process, to meet and exceed sales targets
  • Initiate, develop, and maintain trusted and lasting relationships with utility customers
  • Lead the development of sole-source and competitive proposals in addition to supporting partners-led opportunities
  • Develop annual plans and success metrics, and establish and maintain tracking & reporting capabilities
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in the use cases and value propositions enabled by Armada hardware, software and orchestration solutions
  • Attend, participate and speak at conferences and participate in industry associations on behalf of Armada to drive brand awareness and identify/cultivate customer and partner opportunities

Qualifications

  • 10-20 years of leadership experience in high growth environments, in a business development function, within large organizations and/or early-stage entrepreneurial companies.
  • 10-20 years combined experience in one or more of the following areas: Economic load shaping hardware, and software solutions. Renewable energy and energy storage systems. Utility and Third Party managed DSM programs. DER market and partner community. ISO and grid services economics.
  • Strong leadership and relationship skills while possessing a high comfort level in early-stage growth and innovation environments
  • Deep relationships that span national utility communities and related partner networks
  • Experience-based command of the utility and demand side management program space, DERMS and VPP market and partners, and ISO and grid services economics
  • Direct experience working with utilities, third-party program managers, regulators, and grid operators to develop DSM and DR programs
  • Confidence in creating and operationalizing sales processes, selling at all levels of client and partner organizations from technical, to operations to C-suite, and communicating effectively with internal teams.
  • Commitment to a dynamic, relationship-based business culture and long term internal and external relationships.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Hands-on analytical and reporting skills, leveraging CRM systems, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, or equivalent desktop tools.
