Position Overview: Seeking a talented Pega Lead System Architect to join our IT Software Development Services (ITSS) team. As a Pega Lead System Architect, you will play a pivotal role in the development and design of advanced enterprise-level systems. Your responsibilities will include architecting and designing complex solutions for large-scale Pega-based applications, managing a team of developers, and collaborating with other architects to define the overall solution architecture of the Pega ecosystem. Additionally, you will strategize for the future growth and maintenance of the Pega ecosystem, mentor team members, manage integrations, provide thought leadership, maintain customer relationships, and conduct code reviews.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and design advanced enterprise-level systems, including architecting and designing complex solutions for large-scale Pega-based applications.

  • Manage a team of developers, overseeing project delivery from concept to finish.

  • Collaborate with other architects to explore and define how proposed capabilities will integrate into specific systems and the overall Pega ecosystem.

  • Analyze past, current, and future states of systems to produce effective roadmaps for the growth and maintenance of the Pega ecosystem.

  • Provide architecture and design guidance, mentor team members, and inspire developers to maximize their potential.

  • Build and maintain awareness of various components in each system, managing integration and dependencies.

  • Design advanced classes, data structures, and foundational components with integrations between multiple internal or external systems.

  • Evaluate existing processes, contribute to development plans, and recommend efficiency improvements.

  • Maintain customer relationships.

  • Utilize digital whiteboarding tools in virtual meetings to generate discussion and feedback, adapt in real-time, and generate documentation from diagrams or flowcharts.

  • Research and explore capabilities of non-Pega-based technologies.

  • Conduct code reviews, offer insights for better coding and design practices at scale.

  • Manage a geographically distributed team in a remote environment.

  • Communicate clearly, collaborate with teams to iterate on software development concepts, and discuss feasibility.

  • Troubleshoot complex technical issues, debug, and analyze data.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 7 years of progressively responsible experience.

  • With at least 3-4 years of experience in building and implementing model-driven, enterprise-level business solutions.

  • Proficiency across all facets of software development lifecycle, encompassing design, configuration, testing, debugging, deployment, and maintenance of enterprise-scale, business-oriented, and process-driven applications.

  • Proficiency in diverse technologies, spanning J2EE (JSP, Servlets, EJB, XML, Java), .Net, Oracle, DB2, and MS/SQL, among others.

  • Demonstrated expertise in Object-Oriented methodologies and principles, adeptly applied to software development endeavors.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills are essential to effectively engage with various stakeholders, both internal and external.

  • Experience working with Agile software development methodologies, with a solid understanding of Agile principles and practices.

  • Demonstrated proficiency in leveraging Azure DevOps tools and methodologies, including hands-on experience in actively contributing to Scrum team dynamics.

  • Extensive track record in client-facing positions, demonstrating adeptness in comprehending intricate business requirements and effectively resolving multifaceted challenges.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related field.

  • Pega Systems Architect Certification (Required)

Compensation and Benefits

The projected compensation range for this position is $143,000 to $182,600 per year benchmarked in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. Salary at LCG is determined by various factors, including but not limited to role, location, the combination of education/training, knowledge, skills, competencies, certifications, and work experience.
