Job Description
Job Title: Research Assistant
Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Research Assistant to support our data science operations. The successful candidate will conduct data analytics projects to provide actionable insights to stakeholders, implement data standards, and deploy automation tools to enhance data quality and integrity. The Research Assistant will collaborate with stakeholders to understand their needs and deliver data-driven solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct data analytics projects to support decision-making and solution development.
Develop and implement innovative data science methods to address complex problems.
Apply machine learning, NLP, text mining, and other tools to extract knowledge from data.
Extract, synthesize, and validate data from various sources using automation tools.
Transform data into usable metrics and construct comprehensive data sets.
Ensure data quality by troubleshooting and resolving database issues.
Use data visualization/BI tools like Qlik, PowerBI, and RShiny to create engaging visuals.
Produce reports, data files, and dashboards to communicate findings effectively.
Perform quality control to identify and correct data inconsistencies or errors.
Assess information retrieval quality to ensure consistent data processing.
Collaborate with stakeholders to understand their needs and requirements.
Provide technical presentations and demos to non-experts and leadership.
Assist in designing and implementing data analysis and scientific computing solutions.
Identify and recommend improvements or modernizations for existing tools.
Document and store code according to industry standards and security procedures.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in business, Data Analytics, or a quantitative field.
2 minimum years of experience.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders and team members.
Detail-oriented with a focus on data quality and integrity.
Experience with data management and quality control.
Knowledge of medical thesauri/terminologies, graph/network analysis, and computational linguistics.
Familiarity with large volumes of structured and unstructured data.
