I. POSITION OBJECTIVE

Directly responsible for the cleanliness of assigned areas and care of assigned tools and materials. Required to properly use all soaps, waxes, and other janitorial supplies as intended.

I. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

* Cleans and services rooms, bathrooms, and/or offices.

* Sweeps and cleans terraces, storage areas, halls, and stairways as assigned.

* Cleans, mops, washes, or vacuums floors.

* Dusts furniture, equipment, coving, or kick-plates as assigned.

* May be required to periodically wax and buff floors.

* Empties waste receptacles, spot-cleans walls, cleans window sills, or cleans and refills sand jars.

* Polishes brass.

* Cleans and polishes glass panels in doors and partitions.

* Collects all trash and garbage and disposes of it properly.

* Washes walls and windows as assigned.

* Cleans and washes fountains daily, cleans lighting fixtures, tops of window and door frames, and other high areas.

* Refills dispensers: soap, toilet tissues, towels, etc.

* May assist in moving furniture, equipment, and supplies.

* Reports conditions in need of maintenance or special attention to the supervisor.

JOB/ POSITION DESCRIPTION

* Reports unusual findings in residents' rooms, bathrooms, or other areas that might indicate health or safety problems.

* Assists in set-ups for events.

* Must have a neat personal appearance.

* Must be able to take orders and follow directions.

* Must be able to work well with others.

* Must be able to communicate with the residents.

* Attends in-service and/or safety meetings as required.

* Performs specific work duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.

IV. KNOWLEDGE / EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

* Minimum grade school education.

* Must be comfortable working with COVID-positive patients.
