Purchasing Agent/Buyer

LD Carlson Company (Kent, OH), a leader in wholesale distribution of wine and beer making products, is seeking an experienced procurement professional to join their supply chain team.

At least three years of professional buying and negotiating experience is required for this position. On-site training of company specific duties will be provided. This position requires the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and be fluent in Microsoft Office programs.

Attributes Needed –

· Experience: an individual that can bring know-how and more than just a basic understanding of forecasting and buying analytics. Longevity is important, but the impact and knowledge gained in their experience is more valuable to us.

· Communication: an individual with high level communication skills. Must be fluent in Microsoft Office programs to exchange information through email and other written forms. Well spoken and written with the ability to maintain professionalism during tough conversations and all communications with vendors.

· Tenacity: a strong will to do what needs to be done (and not take shortcuts) is a key skill that we need to have within the department. Having a tenacious work ethic and strong sense of urgency is an important attribute for the candidate.

· Coachable: having a willingness to be guided and directed through the numerous tasks that present themselves within the department. Must be able to positively receive constructive criticism without shutting down or becoming combative.

· Multi-tasking and Time Management: this is a key component as the daily workflow can pull you in many directions. The ability to handle multiple interruptions and pick up where they left off in an efficient manner. We need an individual who can stay focused enough to finish tasks accurately while maintaining flexibility to cover a substantial amount of ground. This is also more important than ever in today’s rapidly changing market.

Pay: From $60,000.00 per year
