Job Description:

LDI Solutions is seeking a highly skilled and hands-on Director of Operations to oversee the daily operations of our Innovations Center, Fulfillment Center, and Print Production (the Design Studio). This senior-level position reports directly to the President and requires a proactive individual who is comfortable working in a light manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities:

Operational Oversight

§ Head of Supply Chain: Oversee all stages of production from suppliers to delivery to customers.

§ Purchasing: Oversee all purchasing activities, responsible for production orders with outside vendors.

§ Light Manufacturing/Packing: Provide light manufacturing and packing services.

§ Print Production: Oversee print production activities.

§ Head of Quality: Uphold and enhance quality standards.

§ Technical Support: Provide technical assistance and solutions.

§ Testing Lab: Manage testing lab in support of quality and research and development initiatives.

§ Head of Safety: Maintain a safe working environment.

§ Facility Management: Ensure facilities are well-maintained, secure and accessible.

§ Information Technology: Primary liaison with 3rd party IT vendor.

Strategic and Tactical Duties

§ Policy Creation: Develop and implement operational policies and procedures.

§ Process Control: Maintain and improve process efficiency and effectiveness.

§ System Improvement: Enhance operational management systems and best practices.

§ Business-Critical Goals: Ensure achievement of critical business expectations.

§ Budgeting and Planning: Assist with budgeting, reporting, planning, and auditing.

§ Culture Promotion: Foster a company culture that encourages top performance.

§ Safety Promotion: Ensure a safe working environment at all times.

§ Growth Strategies: Develop and implement strategies for growth.

Key Responsibilities

§ Manage purchasing of raw materials and finished goods from suppliers.

§ Optimize inventory levels for optimal balance of cash management and customer service.

§ Identify and develop new suppliers.

§ Negotiate with suppliers and customers to optimize relationships.

§ Troubleshoot production issues and ensure process control.

§ Manage logistics to optimize costs and timing of incoming materials.

§ Streamline warehousing operations and plan for growth.

§ Oversee shipping operations to ensure timely delivery.

§ Oversee QMS and maintain FDA registration.

§ Write product specifications and pass/fail QC release criteria.

§ Develop and implement quality control testing methods.

§ Investigate and resolve root causes of quality control issues.

§ Support Customer Care Team in interfacing with customers to resolve quality, warranty, and technical support issues.

§ Conduct benchmark testing of competitive products.

§ Collaborate with suppliers to conduct experiments and trials for new product development.

§ Oversee facility maintenance.

Desired Skills/Experience:

§ Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Business Management preferred.

§ Work Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience, demonstrating a proven track record of scaling operations from individual contributors to coordinated teams.

§ Industry Knowledge: A background in materials, plastics, textiles, chemistry, or engineering is a plus.

§ Problem-Solving Skills: Familiarity with problem-solving techniques such as Kaizen and Five Why analysis.

§ Lean Manufacturing: Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and Five S methodologies.

§ Quality Management: Background in ISO 9001 or ISO 13485 quality management systems.

§ Technical Proficiency: Proficient in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Good writing skills are essential.

§ Hands-On: Willingness to conduct hands-on testing, experiments, and production trials.

§ Work Ethic: Independent worker with initiative and a strong work ethic.

§ Safety Awareness: Willing to work safely with chemicals in an industrial setting.

§ Organizational Skills: Ability to adapt to multiple tasks and changing priorities.

§ Interpersonal Skills: Good people skills.

§ Travel: Willingness to travel occasionally to China, Canada, and throughout the US.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $125,000.00 - $175,000.00 per year
