Job Description:

A growing snacking client is hiring for a Head of HR in their Salt Lake City Office. The Head of HR will be reporting to the GM, and will be a key member of the leadership team owning the people agenda: Talent, Culture, Organization and team member strategies and acting as HR business and thought partner. You will also work closely with colleagues and COE’s to shape a fit for purpose people agenda for the business.

Business Leadership:

  • Partner with the GM and the Leadership Team to position the organization for success and deliver accelerated growth. You will provide business partnership in the areas of culture, talent and organization, ensuring alignment with the business strategy and building required strategic capabilities to support their ambitious value creation plan. Partner with GM and leadership team on high performance team development.
  • HR Business Partnering
    • Provide HR coaching and counsel to senior managers to enable the implementation of policy, projects, and change initiatives.
    • Develop and investigate multiple hypotheses, using a wide range of HR data to diagnose underlying causes of key business issues and identify opportunities to enhance employee engagement and/or improve business performance.
    • Manage relationships with strategic internal clients and act as a business partner to them, mobilizing appropriate internal and/or external resources to support in delivering business strategy and plans.
  • Talent & Organizational Health
    • Lead best in class talent attraction and development while driving employee engagement. Understand the ‘pulse’ of the business to strengthen the health of the organization and ensure "fit for purpose" organization design.
  • Unit Effectiveness & Operations
    • Drive efficiency across the HR operating model by partnering with HR to identify and deploy value added HR programs, offering strategic guidance to unit specific projects, providing HR Business Partner support to all functions and partnering with global stakeholders. Ensure all functions of the HR model enable the business; this includes Talent Acquisition, HRBP, Rewards, Operations, Learning & Development, etc.

  • Effectively manage employee relations issues and drive workforce planning to support the business needs
  • Earn the trust of and partnered effectively with organizational leaders to drive change or transformation to improve workplace culture and engagement, and business performance;
  • Developed or influenced the development of key people programs in areas related to performance management, HRBP, coaching and feedback, leave management, organizational design, change management, etc
  • Either informally or formally led a team toward achieving results for their business units through coaching and accountability
  • Developed and/or revised HR policies, such as attendance, performance improvement plans, vacation, sick, PTO, or leave

The Ideal Candidate

  • In addition, our ideal candidate loves being a subject matter expert in Human Resources as much as they love being in the business. The candidate believes that to effectively advise the business, an HR professional must know the business. The person must be an effective influencer who leverages facts, data, and analysis to influence and achieve the best results for the organization.

Skills and Experience required:

  • 8 years of progressive HR experience and experience leading people in a formal or informal capacity
  • A bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience); a Master’s in Human Resources, Business, or Management is a plus
  • Ability to develop strong trusting relationships with senior leaders and managers in order to gain support and achieve strategic business goals
  • Advanced consulting skills and ability to influence decisions to a positive business outcome
  • Comprehensive experience in development and implementation of strategic initiatives through to execution while acting as an employee champion and change agent,
  • Ability to effectively manage change and work with ambiguity, prioritizing business needs and resources
  • Solid knowledge of local policies and practices and understand their application in solving business needs

Salary range for this role is $130k - $175k base, plus a 20% bonus.
