Le Jardin Academy is Hiring a Secondary Science Teacher Near Kailua, HI

Le Jardin is seeking a full-time Secondary Science Teacher for the 2024/2025 school year. A Bachelor’s degree in a related field is required; a Masters degree in Education or current teaching credential is preferred along with a minimum of 3 years of teaching experience. Knowledge and/or experience of the IB MYP Programs is a plus. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States. Please send resume and cover letter to stacey.surina@lejardinacademy.org No phone calls, please. All LJA Secondary Students are members of an Impact Academy, with committed student cohorts led by faculty, staff and community partners that work together to design projects that address needs and complete meaningful work for the community. Every school year, Le Jardin Academy Secondary students participate in I-Term (Impact Term), an annual week to twelve days (depending on the course) dedicated to experiential learning and community engagement. Who should apply? 

Qualifications – ideal candidates will demonstrate the following qualities: 

  • Strong connection with the values of Le Jardin Academy and the ability to apply them in their day to day teaching
  • Experience with teaching the MYP Science curriculum and/or middle school Science
  • Commitment to experiential and student-centered approaches to learning
  • Three or more years of teaching experience
  • Ability and desire to collaborate with colleagues 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 

Preferred Experience

  • Experience with teaching Science at the middle or high school level

Required Education 

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in a scientific discipline

Preferred Education

  • Master’s degree in a scientific discipline or a related field or in Education 
  • Current teaching credential

Required Work Permit

  • Must be already eligible to work in the USA.
