POSITION: Physician Assistant, Urgent Care LOCATION: Winter Haven, FL Job Summary Applies and modifies the principles, methods and techniques of medicine to provide primary patient care. Work closely with Practice Administrator & Case Manager to ensure comprehensive delivery of services and quality patient care. Cooperate with management in the direction of all clinic activities to ensure accomplishment of all clinic objectives. Evaluate medical procedures and everyday situations and suggest ways to improve delivery of service and profitability. Responsibilities 1. Provide medical treatment to patients. 2. Chart all patient transactions in accordance with company policies and procedures. 3. Works closely with Medical Assistants to assure compliance of all applicable regulations. 4. Communicate and work with medical staff to ensure coordinated efforts for the provision of high quality medical treatment and client service. 5. Comply with ethical, legal & professional issues. 6. Comply with applicable regulations and with corporate policies and procedures. 7. Comply with quality assurance for all medical issues and assist in the solution of any medical problems. 8. Contribute solutions to intra- and inter-departmental problems. 9. Protect clinic assets and property against loss or waste through negligence or dishonesty. 10. Participate in implementing special medical projects and services, such as on-site services. 11. Participate in professional development activities and maintain professional affiliations. Skills and Specifications State of Florida Physician Assistant License. Masters preferred Physician Assistant. Previous experience in General Practice preferred. EMR experience, Computer Literate Responsibilities: - Provide direct patient care, including conducting physical examinations, diagnosing and treating common acute illnesses and injuries, and managing chronic conditions- Order and interpret diagnostic tests, such as medical imaging and laboratory tests- Perform procedures such as venipuncture, wound care, and suture removal- Administer medications, including injections and intravenous therapy- Monitor patients' progress and make necessary adjustments to their treatment plans- Educate patients and their families about their conditions and treatment options- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to patients. Skills: - Proficient in medical records management and documentation - Experienced in medical imaging interpretation - Skilled in performing venipuncture and other basic laboratory procedures - Knowledgeable in ventilator management and respiratory support techniques - Familiar with aseptic technique for infection control - Proficient in using electronic health record systems such as Cerner or Athenahealth - Competent in psychopharmacology for mental health treatment - Experienced in tube feeding administration and management - Certified in basic life support (BLS) techniques You will have the opportunity to utilize your skills and expertise to diagnose and treat a variety of medical conditions.
