Position Summary Operations at Brown Advisory provides applicants with a client first, fast paced, entrepreneurial environment where they will have the opportunity to develop their problem-solving skills with the support of dedicated teammates. The Operations team is seeking a dynamic new leader to bolster our current processes and offerings. This role will provide the right candidate with the opportunity to lead a growing team, leverage their extensive experience, and add value to our firm in an outsized way. Essential Functions/Responsibilities: Scope of Responsibilities: Oversee the execution of all related Private Client operational activity, including account administration, cashiering, transactional management, reporting, billing, and project management. Strategic/Commercial Orientation: The ideal candidate should understand the business context and market landscape. S/he should be able to balance different objectives with the priorities of the business to frame a strategic/pragmatic roadmap. S/he should have the ability to grasp complex operational and regulatory issues across the broad spectrum of the business. Results Orientation: Candidate must demonstrate the ability to make things happen across the organization by combining; a systematic approach to program management, effective resource allocation, and strong attention to detail and clear target setting. By linking financial performance to operational effectiveness, the successful candidate will have a track record of meeting or exceeding performance targets for key short-and long-term objectives. Team Leadership: The successful candidate will lead highly skilled teams across multiple functions and locations. The candidate must demonstrate flexibility to bring out the best in people with different backgrounds and styles, while unifying them in purpose, role clarity, and expectations related to deliverables. S/he must have a passion for the vision and mission and infuse that passion within his/her team while promoting the highest standards of quality and accountability. Vendor Oversight: Lead and continuously strengthen Brown Advisory’s relationship with key vendors and custodians with a focus on partnership and ensuring high client service and SLA adherence. Advocate for our clients and firm through contract and service level negotiations with vendors Escalation management to resolve time sensitive needs with urgency and professionalism. Evaluate end to end workflow of private client operations to mitigate risk, improve service, and position our operations to scale in support of the growth of the business. Execute ad‐hoc projects and strategic initiatives for the business; partner with groups internally including, but not limited to, Private Client, Institutional Sales and Service, Technology and Infrastructure to deliver key results.
