Whatcom County based Skilled Nursing Facility near the coast of Puget Sound and just south of the Canadian border is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) leader for their Director of Nursing Services (DNS, DON) role. Director of Nursing Services Job Description

Directors of Nursing Services are responsible for leading and supervising a nursing unit. This position is ultimately responsible and accountable for the nursing care received by residents. This DNS will report to the Nursing Home Administrator.

Specifically, Director of Nursing job duties include:

• Directing the nursing program, including implementing new policies and procedures when necessary
• Overseeing hiring, firing, and development of nursing staff
• Communicating with families, residents, and physicians as needed
• Developing a business plan and budget for the nursing unit
• Participating in creating resident care plans and ensuring they are followed
• Ensuring the nursing unit is compliant with all local, state, and federal regulations

Candidates must be registered nurses.

Ideal candidates will bring:

• Registered Nurse (RN) license in Washington State
• Previous clinical leadership experience
• Strong knowledge of and experience in Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) settings, with knowledge of the WA regulations and ability to mentor others
• Gift for performing as a supportive leader of others, including educating teams and cheering on their success
• Inherent appreciation for seniors and interest in seeing them well cared-for daily
