Description of Role:  We are seeking a Payroll/AP Specialist who will collect payroll data to maintain accurate payroll records. They will handle processing of employee status changes, analyzes payroll and employee expenses. They would also be responsible for all accounts payable functions for the company, including processing invoices, cutting checks, reconciling vendor statements and monthly AP accrual. Performs other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities:

• Administer processing of payroll and collect payroll data to maintain accurate payroll records.
• Handle processing of employee status changes, analyze payroll and employee expenses, assure general ledger accounts are reconciled.
• Audit payroll information for accuracy.
• Reconcile payroll deposits, tax withholdings, wage garnishments, and voluntary deductions.
• Charge expenses to accounts and cost centers.
• Verify vendor accounts, pay vendors and resolve purchase order, invoice or payment discrepancies.
• Issue purchase order amendments and stop payments.
• Reconcile account transactions with the general ledger.
• Perform recordkeeping and prepare financial reports.
• Keep informed of regulatory requirements and best practices in accounting.
• Other duties as assigned.

Skills & Requirements:

• 5 years processing payroll on an HCM
• Knowledge of legislative and regulatory requirements for payroll
• Positive and effective communication skills
• Proven work experience as an Accounts Payable Specialist or similar role
• Advanced competency in accounting and business management software
• In-depth knowledge of accounts payable principles, accounting standards and industry regulations
• Extensive experience in account reconciliation
• Microsoft Office, Sharepoint, Teams and Dayforce or other HCM

Work Schedule:

Monday - Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm
