Learning Grove is Hiring an ASSISTANT DIRECTOR Near Cincinnati, OH
Definition And Primary ObjectiveAssist the Director of the Learning Grove center with all day-to-day operations of the program. Work with staff and families on a regular basis to ensure high quality care is provided. Reporting RelationshipsSUPERVISION OF: In Director’s Absence: all center staff including but limited to Teachers, Assistant Teacher(s), Cook, and Janitor SUPERVISION BY: Center Director Primary Responsibilities
Works as a teacher in classroom at least 4 hours each day
Assists in ensuring the creation and maintenance of safe and healthy learning environments for children
Assists the process of enrolling children into the program
Maintains compliance with state childcare licensing/NAC standards and KY All Star requirements
Assists in coordinating and evaluating the childcare component of Early Learning center
Assists with staff meeting preparation, training and in-service days for childcare staff as assigned
Participate in meetings/trainings as required/requested by director
Assist the director in administrative duties as assigned
Coaching and Staff Development
Mentors, supervises, and supports childcare staff in the classroom setting
Assists in observing teachers in classroom or other teacher settings to assess relevant skills, and recommends methods and strategies appropriate to the achievement of program goals along with Director
Supports staff through supervision of the assessments of enrolled children
Ensure teachers check and update their Professional Development Plans to reflect current training experiences along with Director
Support the staff to ensure the completion of at least two parent conferences of each enrolled child each year along with the Director
Assists with the supervise the transition process within and out of program
Other duties as assigned Credentials & RequirementsMinimum Education, Experience and Other Skill Requirements:
Ability to read, speak, and write English
CDA (with supervisory experience) or greater (Associate/Bachelor/Master Degree with child development classes)
Prior experience working with young children commensurate to responsibilities
Current First Aid/CPR Certification
Ability to lift (weight) and meet the physical challenges within reason compliant to the position
Successful clearance of a CAN Check and Criminal Background Check
Compliance with Licensing requirement for TB testing
No physical or mental/emotional limitations that would prevent the implementation of caring for and safe- keeping of infants through school age children
