Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement educational programs and curriculum for children in the child care center.
- Oversee the daily operations of the child care center, ensuring compliance with licensing regulations and safety protocols.
- Hire, train, and supervise child care staff, providing guidance and support as needed.
- Maintain open communication with parents, addressing any concerns or questions they may have.
- Collaborate with teachers and staff to create a nurturing and stimulating environment for children.
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of child care staff, providing feedback and implementing improvement plans as necessary.
- Manage budgets and resources to ensure efficient operation of the child care center.
- Stay up-to-date with current trends and best practices in early childhood education.

Minimum Requirements:
- Age: 21 years of age (Proof must be provided)

-* Education: One (1) year ECE certificate with 30 credit hours, or* Child Development Credential (CDC), or Montessori certification or Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential. (Transcripts/ degrees/ certificates) must be provided.

- Experience: Completed at least two (2) full years of experience with one (1) year working under supervision in a licensed childcare center, nursery school, church-operated school, or similar setting. (Letters of reference or employment) must be provided.

-* Management: * - Document of management experience or 10 hours training including planning, budgeting, staffing, and monitoring, or Childcare course including planning, budgeting, staffing, and monitoring. (Letter from former/current employer stating your responsibilities) Or (course transcripts) must be provided.

- Familiarity with state licensing regulations for child care centers. - Computer literacy and knowledge (Microsoft Office, Brightwheel Childcare Software, Google Docs, Basic Bookkeeping, etc.)
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of early childhood development principles and practices.
- Experience in higher education teaching or curriculum development is a plus.

** Experience and/or knowledge of the Virginia Child Care Subsidy Program and the Military Child Care in Your Neighborhood (MCCYN) Progam.
