Ledgent Finance & Accounting is Hiring an AP Specialist/HR Generalist (small company!) (Temp to hire!) Near Burnsville, MN

We have a unique opportunity with our client in the south metro looking for a Jack/Jill of all trades. Must have 2 years of invoicing/AP experience and willing to help out where needed (payroll entry and other Human Resources duties as needed). This would be a great match for someone who enjoys variety and doing a little bit of everything!

Temporary to hire or direct hire (long term fit). $50,000-$60,0000/annually. 4x/week ON SITE with 1x/week remote flexibility. MUST LIVE LOCAL.

Job Description:

  • Accounts Payable responsibilities, including invoice entry, sales and use tax compliance, vendor relations, inquiries and information requests
  • Track expenses and process expense reports
  • Prepare and process electronic transfers and payments
  • Prepare and perform check runs
  • Post transactions to journals, ledgers and other records
  • Reconcile accounts payable transactions
  • Prepare analysis of accounts
  • Monitor accounts to make sure payments are up to date
  • Research and resolve invoice discrepancies and issues
  • Maintain vendor files
  • Produce monthly reports
  • Assist with month-end closing
  • Provide supporting documentation for audits
  • Maintain customer tax exempt certificates
  • Reconcile monthly, quarterly sales tax returns using appropriate software
  • Process time cards by established deadlines
  • Reconcile employee deductions
  • Update payroll records by recording changes including insurance coverage, loan payments, salary increases
  • Correspond with potential new hires - conduct phone interviews, participate with department heads on in-person interviews, follow-up with candidates after the final decision on hiring is made.
  • Process new employees, terminations, transfers and promotions
  • Prepare, print, and file payroll reports
  • Address employee's pay-related concerns and provide accurate payroll information
  • Complete requests for pay-related documents including statements and verifications
  • Maintain comprehensive payroll records
  • Conduct new employee orientation
  • Lead employee team ("fun committee") to plan, organize, and schedule company events.
  • Identify and manage training and development needs for employees
  • Administer HR policies and procedures
  • Handle employee complaints, grievances and disputes
  • Administer employee discipline processes
  • Conduct exit interviews
  • Review and update employee rules and regulations

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of accounts payable
  • Knowledge of office administration and procedures
  • Knowledge of general bookkeeping procedures
  • Knowledge of general accounting procedures
  • Experience processing payroll (Bonus)
  • Generalist human resources experience (Bonus not required)
