Position Summary: The Enterprise Project Manager is responsible for leading complex projects that improve the performance of the organization in alignment with strategic priorities and objectives. This role requires high competency in project leadership, executive-level communication, analysis, business case development, prioritization, planning, problem solving, standardization, and project lifecycle management. The role will contribute significantly to the overall portfolio efficiency, while providing training, coaching, and support for project sponsors, managers, and teams. The project manager will contribute significantly to successful project delivery and benefits realization serving as a champion for positive, innovative change. This is a key role for company-wide stakeholder engagement and relationship management.
Position Responsibilities

  • Apply strong leadership skills and project management expertise to organize and motivate project teams and achieve successful project delivery.
  • Accountable for executing the full project lifecycle: Define project scope, validate project roles, create project plans, define project tasks, ensure required resource assignments, create/maintain project schedule, manage project budget, allocate project resources, track deliverables, monitor project progress, ensure change management in place, and perform other project management responsibilities as required.
  • Produce written and verbal reports on project status and progress, including milestones, risks, actions, issues, and decisions.
  • Communicate effectively and foster partnership with project sponsor, owner, and stakeholders.
  • Request and coordinate project phase gate reviews, including ensuring high quality deliverables and all required work products are delivered for governance review and approval to proceed to next phase.
  • Evaluate project results, including lessons learned and value realization.
  • Provide expert guidance for business case development and project evaluation.
  • Perform governance function for the processes, methods, tools, compliance, and adoption for process management, change request management, project management, policy structure, and other applicable areas of the governance model.
  • Utilize performance metrics to indicate health and progress.
  • Analyze, understand, and continuously communicate the overall health and status of the projects, keeping leadership informed to enable effective decision making.
  • Analyze and prioritize projects based on alignment with strategic priorities.
  • Facilitate the translation of value propositions into process performance goals.
  • Partner with strategic priority team sponsors and stakeholders to analyze and report on outcomes of projects initiated to make progress on and/or achieve strategic objectives.
  • Perform resource analysis during planning cycles and as input to the change request management process to allocate resources optimally and identify over-allocation risks.
  • Monitor and evaluate project progress, risks, issues, and dependencies to maintain project control, including developing and communicating delivery metric.
  • Develop and maintain project management standards, training, and coaching concepts to strengthen project leaders.

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field. (Required)

Experience

  • 10 to 15 Years experience in project management, including complex project management related to Information Technology and Engineering and/or leading programs. (Required)

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Expertise with project management and analysis tools and related methods. (Required)
  • Ability to adjust multiple and changing priorities while interfacing effectively with all levels of the organization. (Required)
  • Understanding of process management, change management, and strategy. (Preferred)
  • General understanding of business analysis, ITIL, custom software development lifecycle, commercial off-the-shelf software implementation, emerging technologies, and application support concepts. (Preferred)
  • General understanding of electric utility industry and cooperative business model. (Preferred)

Licenses and Certifications

  • Certified Project Management Professional (PMP)-PMI Agile, Waterfall (Required)
  • Certification in business analysis, process improvement, business design, change management or other related certification (Preferred)
