Qualifications:

Nature of Work

The Coordinator serves to enhance the effectiveness of the educational process through the implementation and administration of a particular school program.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Thorough knowledge of state, federal and local policies applicable to a particular school program.
  • Considerable knowledge of the current literature, trends, and developments.
  • Considerable knowledge of the principles of supervision, organization and administration.
  • Skill in counseling and developing staff.
  • Ability to use common office machines and popular computer driven word processing, spreadsheet and file maintenance programs.
  • Ability to maintain complete and accurate records and statistics and to develop meaningful reports from that information.
  • Ability to assess the effectiveness of programs and activities.
  • Ability to effectively express ideas orally and in writing.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships as necessitated by work assignments.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Observes, evaluates initiates and directs improvements in the program and provides leadership/supervision to staff.
  • Establishes and maintains the program, provides administrative leadership to assure adherence to program guidelines.
  • Maintains open communications with various groups, facilitates special and related services, assures liaison with the community and initiates and participates in activities which advance the program.
  • Determines staff development needs, cooperatively plans and facilitates implementation of staff development goals, evaluates and reports these outcomes to appropriate personnel.
  • Facilitates the orientation of personnel and provides for personal growth experiences.
  • Serves as liaison between the central administrators and local school staff and with state regional administrators.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.
