Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Estimator with a proven track record in high-end luxury residential and hotel construction projects valued at $100 million or more. The Estimator will play a critical role in accurately estimating project costs, analyzing bid proposals, and supporting the pre-construction phase to ensure the success of our projects. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on prestigious projects and contribute to the continued growth and success of our dynamic construction management firm.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Cost Estimation: Prepare comprehensive cost estimates for high-end luxury residential and hotel projects, including material, labor, and equipment costs, based on project plans, specifications, and historical data.
  2. Bid Analysis: Analyze bid proposals from subcontractors and suppliers, evaluating pricing, scope, and qualifications to ensure competitiveness and alignment with project requirements.
  3. Value Engineering: Collaborate with project teams to identify value engineering opportunities and cost-saving alternatives without compromising quality or design intent.
  4. Cost Management: Monitor project costs throughout the pre-construction phase, identifying cost risks and opportunities, and providing recommendations to optimize project budget and profitability.
  5. Risk Assessment: Conduct risk assessments and contingency analysis to identify potential cost impacts and develop mitigation strategies to minimize risk exposure.
  6. Cost Reporting: Prepare accurate and timely cost reports, forecasts, and variance analysis for project stakeholders, providing insights into project cost performance and potential deviations from budget.
  7. Vendor and Subcontractor Relations: Establish and maintain relationships with vendors and subcontractors, soliciting bids, negotiating pricing, and ensuring compliance with project requirements and specifications.
  8. Estimating Software: Utilize advanced estimating software (e.g., Procore, Sage Estimating) to streamline the estimation process, improve accuracy, and enhance productivity.
  9. Continuous Improvement: Stay abreast of industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in construction cost estimation, contributing to the continuous improvement of estimating processes and methodologies.
  10. Collaboration: Collaborate closely with project managers, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment of project goals, objectives, and budget constraints.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in construction estimating, with a focus on high-end luxury residential and hotel projects valued at $100 million or more.
  • Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and techniques, particularly in the luxury residential and hotel sectors.
  • Proficiency in construction estimating software and tools, such as Procore, Sage Estimating, or similar.
  • Excellent analytical and quantitative skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
