Job Description:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Staff Tax Accountant with 1-2 years of experience to join our dynamic accounting team. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in tax preparation and compliance, excellent analytical skills, and a passion for delivering high-quality work.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, businesses, and other entities.
- Assist in tax planning and research to develop strategies for minimizing tax liability.
- Review and analyze financial statements to ensure accurate reporting and compliance with tax laws.
- Maintain and organize tax records and documentation.
- Respond to tax notices and inquiries from tax authorities.
- Assist in the preparation of quarterly and annual tax provisions.
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure the accuracy and completeness of tax filings.
- Stay updated on changes in tax regulations and laws and communicate their impact to the team.
- Support the senior tax accountants and management with ad-hoc projects and tasks.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA or working towards CPA certification is preferred.
- 1-3 years of experience in tax accounting or a related field.
- Strong understanding of federal, state, and local tax regulations.
- Proficiency in tax preparation software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
