Job Title: Armed Security Officer
Department: Security/Safety
PRIMARY PURPOSE or JOB SUMMARY
The Security Officer provides security for Legacy Pharmaceutical Packaging, LLC’s buildings, equipment, and personnel through control of building access, monitoring of technologically complex equipment, and inspections of all grounds and facilities. Additionally, this role is responsible for overall site services and ensuring the grounds and facility are current, in good state of repair and appropriate for use, as well as responsibility for Safety programs, cGMP program and initiatives at the sites.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Responsible for providing security for Legacy’s buildings, equipment, and personnel through the control of building access, monitoring of utility systems for malfunction or failure, and periodic inspection of all grounds and facilities.
- Provides controlled access to facilities using a computerized access control system.
- Respond to building alarms; observe for possible health and safety hazards,
- Performs security checks
- Promote a safe and hazard free work environment for everyone on Legacy’s premises.
- Prevents losses and damage by reporting irregularities; informing violators of policy and procedures; restraining trespassers.
- Maintains organization's stability and reputation by complying with legal requirements.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Completes reports by recording observations, information, occurrences, and surveillance activities; interviewing witnesses; obtaining signatures as needed.
- Assisting with the drug and alcohol testing for reasonable suspicion
ACCOUNTABILITY
The Security Office shall be held accountable for security, safety and cGMP of all Legacy employees, temporary staffing, contractors, clients, and visitors.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
None
- High school diploma or GED is required
- 1-4 years’ experience in a law enforcement position, Security Officer position, or directly related position
- Strong Interpersonal and verbal communication skills
- Surveillance experience preferred but not required
- Self-starter and work independently
- Good judgement skills
- Deals with uncertainty
- Strong multitasking skills
- Uses sound judgement, emotional control, and high integrity
- Reliable and dependable
- Basic computer skills (including Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word)
- Safety Management

- Proficient with a firearm, baton and OC Spray
- Experience in a cGMP environment preferred but not required
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Office, warehouse environment as well as patrolling outside premises
- Hourly/Non-exempt position
ADDITIONAL COMMENTS
- Working hours are targeted at 5pm 5:30am, rotating 3-day weekends off, or 5am 5:30pm Monday-Friday.
