Job Summary:

We are seeking a meticulous and proactive Production Scheduler to join our dynamic team. The Production Scheduler will be responsible for coordinating and optimizing the production schedule to ensure timely delivery of custom manufacturing projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in production planning within a custom manufacturing environment, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to adapt to changing priorities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and Maintain Production Schedules: Create detailed production schedules based on customer orders, ensuring optimal resource utilization and timely delivery.
  • Coordinate with Departments: Collaborate with engineering, procurement, production, and quality assurance teams to align schedules and resolve any production issues.
  • Monitor Production Progress: Track and report on the progress of production activities, adjusting schedules as necessary to accommodate changes or delays.
  • Inventory Management: Ensure that materials and components are available for production as needed, coordinating with the procurement team to manage inventory levels.
  • Optimize Production Processes: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce lead times.
  • Customer Communication: Maintain clear and timely communication with customers regarding order status, delivery timelines, and any changes to the production schedule.
  • Data Analysis: Utilize production data to forecast future scheduling needs and identify potential bottlenecks or inefficiencies.
  • Compliance and Documentation: Ensure all scheduling activities comply with company policies and industry standards, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or a related field preferred, not required.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in production scheduling, preferably in a custom manufacturing environment.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in production planning software (e.g., ERP/MRP systems) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with various departments and external stakeholders.
  • Organizational Skills: Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment while also being capable of working independently.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification: APICS CPIM (Certified in Production and Inventory Management) or PMP (Project Management Professional) certification.
  • Experience: Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Industry Knowledge: Understanding of custom manufacturing processes and challenges.
