Leidos is Hiring a Project Engineer (NASA Cargo Mission Contact) Near Webster, TX

Description

Leidos has an excellent opportunity for a Project Engineer in our Webster, TX office to work on NASA's Cargo Mission Contract (CMC). In this position, the engineer will work on sustaining tasks for CMC hardware and support projects involving the development and certification of spaceflight hardware for NASA's International Space Station (ISS), Orion, Human Landing System (HLS), Gateway and Commercial Programs.
The Project Engineer will perform maintenance, repair, research, development, preparation, delivery, and inventory management of flight and non-flight hardware items. The team works with commercial software such as IBM Maximo, Microsoft (MS) Office Suite, and MS SharePoint, in addition to CMC custom software. Support of tests and other activities may be required outside of normal working hours.
Must have ship or US Permanent Residency and the ability to obtain a Public Trust Security Clearance
Primary Responsibilities
  • Attend internal and external customer meetings; performing in a subject matter expert role under the Sustaining Engineering department at CMC
  • Author and monitor work orders, purchase requests, job plans, non-conformance reports, internal/external customer presentations, designs, and trade studies
  • Perform pre-flight processing, assembly, delivery, and stowage of hardware
  • Provide technical engineering support and perform steps via work authorizing documents
  • Support hardware development projects to certify, flight-configure, and deliver new hardware for spaceflight
  • Create and maintain project resource-loaded schedules in MS Project Professional
  • Develop basis-of-estimates (BOEs) for new work
  • Support multiple requests and projects, prioritize, and accomplish tasks in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
  • Read, interpret, and develop engineering drawings
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, or closely related field and 0-2 years of relevant experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Organized, proactive, and communicates clearly
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Microsoft Project and SharePoint
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Experience working with multi-discipline teams and customers

Pay Range: Pay Range $48,100.00 - $86,950.00
