Position SummaryReporting to the General Manager of Supply Chain, the Supply Chain Manager will support both the logistics function for the entire Cocoa business as well as the supply and operations planning for cocoa powder. They will play a critical role incoordinating and managing the efficient movement of goods, ensuring timely delivery, and optimizing costs. We are seeking a highly organized and proactive candidate to oversee and optimize our logistics operations. This role will develop and execute an inventory plan for a portfolio of items based on demand, actual orders, network lead times and available inventory. Responsible for developing both short- and long-term end to end supply chain plans for items produced internally and externally.
The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, strategic thinking, and a deep understanding of supply chain and logistics processes. Ability to work well within a team as well as individually will be required. They should be approachable by ofi employees across departments & regions, as well as to vendors. The ability to multitask and work well under pressure with many competing demands will be required for success in this position.
Position Responsibilities
  • Design and implement import & logistics strategies for the cocoa business.
  • Negotiate rates & terms with vendors and suppliers.
  • Analyze market trends and identify new sources of supply.
  • Develop relationships with vendors and suppliers.
  • Manage global import team (MindSprint)
  • Ensure compliance with foreign trade laws and regulations.
  • Identify vendor nonperformance trends and implement solutions.
  • Coordinate ongoing communication & follow-up with shippers regarding shipment plans and address any inquiries related to purchase contract execution.
  • Ensure adherence to company policy and procedures.
  • Report results during regular management meetings.
  • Work with internal planning and logistics team to develop and monitor production and shipping schedules based on purchase contract, required inventory stock levels, and customer needs.
  • Responsible for ensuring inventory is in the correct location at the correct quantities.
  • Maintain supply chain and inventory position by product by warehouse. Account for transit times, dragging contracts, estimated purchases, estimated shipments, and forecasted sales.
  • Adjust the item level priorities and communicate these adjustments to the planning team in a proactive manner.
  • Support the Sales and Operations Planning Process for demand and supply reviews.
  • Develop and manage tactical forecasting strategies as they relate to purchasing, logistics, and inventory planning.
  • Monitor, analyze, and report on the performance of purchase contract execution and shipping activities utilizing information derived from the material and production control systems.
  • Develop, support and provide accountability for the inventory stocking initiatives to maximize all customer requirements in a cost-effective manner.
  • Review and develop a strategy to reduce all slow moving, aging, and obsolete inventories.
  • Manage customer service requirements (orders management).
  • Develop and support continuous improvement strategies by focusing on streamlining forecast and inventory processes while optimizing the supply chain network.
  • Responsible for developing, monitoring and managing the seasonal and long-range product demand plans.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree is required. Majorsin Supply Chain, Marketing, Finance, Business Administration, Ag Business or related fieldis preferred. Ten (10) years of imports / logistics experience will be considered in lieu of degree. Internal ofi candidates with seven (7) year successful ofi experience would be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Five (5) years’ experience in logistics and supply planning is required.
  • Experience in Food and Beverage industry is highly preferred.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are required.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain effective relationships across functional groups is required.
  • The ability to perform as a flexible, self-starter with strong work ethic and ability to manage multiple projects and internal and external demands is required.
  • Proven problem-solving skills with well-developed organizational and time management skills is required.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including PowerPoint, Excel, Word and Outlook is required.
  • Inclination for analysis and intellectual curiosity is preferred.
