Position Description: The Maintenance/irrigation Assistant performs routine maintenance and repairs on the infrastructure including buildings, pool areas, amenities court areas, and central irrigation system in the community of the Lakes of Mount Dora. Helps staff and residents as necessary per direction of the Community Association Manager. Irrigation TaskMajor Areas of Responsibility:
Monitor and test irrigation issues, as well as observe pipe and valve replacement
Assists with irrigation system operations /repairs when required due to irrigation technician absences and or heavy seasonal workloads
Installation of Hunter 2 wire with system with supervision
Repair 6” mainline break with supervision
Monitor lake water levels and retention pond operations monthly
Reports and take direction from Irrigation Lead Tech
Respond to after-hours emergency calls as directed by CAM or Board Member
Maintenance Task
Checks to insure all entry / exit gates and associated readers / scanners are operational.
Checks Clubhouse, mail kiosks, guardhouse, and pool deck for cleanliness, restores furniture and equipment to position, restocks restroom supplies, empties trash, and observes / documents any areas needing repair.
Checks amenities courts and pavilion areas and cleans, if required.
Performs tasks as assigned daily including those on check list.
Performs minor repairs in HOA buildings and common areas (e.g. light fixtures, door hardware, chairs / tables, fencing, storm drain system, small carpentry work).
Sets up and breaks down furniture and equipment for Board meetings, communities’ meetings and for lifestyle activities.
RequirementsRequired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Good verbal communication skills
Self-Motivated
Recommend a minimum of 1 year of productive experience in the irrigation inspection and repair of irrigation system but not necessary
Recommend a minimum of 1 year of general maintenance experience
Proactive and notices items that need maintenance / repair / cleaning
Ability to work well with others including supervisors, co-workers, suppliers, and residents
Knowledge and experience in minor mechanical repairs including safe use of hand operated power tools
Valid Florida Driver's License
Reliable Transportation
Ability to pass standard drug test and back ground check
Ability to complete written work orders, maintenance reports, and maintenance logs
Education And Experience Required
High School diploma or General Educational Development (GED) certificate
Experience in building maintenance and repair including knowledge of typical non-specialist maintenance / repair of plumbing, electrical, mechanical and building infrastructure
1 year irrigation experience preferred
Physical Demands
Ability to lift items up to 50 pounds, such as tables, chairs, supplies, etc.
Ability to use ladders, reach overhead, work outside
Salary DescriptionHourly wage to be discussed upon interview
