About The RoleLendingClub is looking for a results-oriented Sr Payment Services Analyst to join our Bank Operations team. This position will report directly to our Vice President of Bank Operations and will be responsible for creating and executing payment suspense processes within the Personal Lending business portfolio. This position will be required to interact with other teams internally to Bank Operations and across the company to eliminate existing multi-year borrower payment sitting in suspense, establish new procedure and process to stabilize applying payments to borrower loan accounts, develop effective reporting routines to oversee performance, and develop business strategy to reduce lending payment complaints. This role will provide support to a variety of external LendingClub teams such as Treasury, Legal, Compliance, Payment Solutions, Member Support, Fraud and other Operations teams. This role is critical to mitigating risk and remaining compliant; assists in streamlining operations-related processes and procedures.
What You'll Do
  • Primary team member managing all borrower payments and transactions that do not straight-through post (i.e. end up in suspense) to LendingClub’s core lending application
  • Responsible for clearing any suspense transaction backlogs that exists within the lending portfolio; further maintain daily oversight to ensure new items that hit suspense are sufficiently cleared within established service level timeframes.
  • Identify areas of opportunity to improve transaction processing controls to minimize the volume of transactions that hit the suspense queues within the core application
  • Document procedures and processes to adequately manage each suspense transaction types, including, but not limited to debt sale, payments received post charge-off or loan pay-off, loan cancellation monetary movements, trailing payments, and check and electronic payment processing through LendingClub’s relationship with Wells Fargo
  • Work with Bank Operations Reconciliation department to ensure identified discrepancies in daily reconciliation processes are executed and cleared. Utilizing reconciliation data, establish move forward operational controls to self-identify procedural and execution discrepancies
  • Supporting third party collections agency payments and account transitions.
  • Supporting Treasury-related tasks such as Failed Loan Issuance, Balance Transfer Loan Failures, Reissuance of funds, Loan Cancellations, ACH transaction review and other tasks related to movement and management of funds.
  • Support processing and reconciliation of check payments; reviewing exceptions and unidentified payments; manual deposits and fee reconciliation
  • Establish monitoring metrics and reporting structure to inform senior management of trends, volumes, and performance
  • Coordinate technology and engineering system enhancements, as needed, to address the root cause LendingClub’s personal lending payment complaints
  • Perform administrative tasks as needed and other duties as assigned in support of a growing payment operations function

About You
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in the financial industry, working in a procedural driven environment doing personal lending other types of financial and transactional processing
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field; or equivalent work experience
  • Strong system skills, collections, processing and analytical skills
  • Effective oral and written communication skills; timely and accurate follow through
  • Self-motivated; detail oriented; able to self-manage
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Critical thinker who will raise their hand when trends are identified
  • Demonstrate quantitative problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Possess good business judgement with a strong focus on customer service
  • Strong team player with a high level of professionalism and initiative
  • Intellectual curiosity to become a subject matter expert in the current process and assist in process improvement
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite preferred (Word and Excel required)
  • CRM experience

We are currently working a hybrid schedule and our teams are in-office Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.
