Job Description: Job Summary Under general supervision, will work alongside physicians, nurses and technologist staff to provide optimal patient care. Conveys patient needs to the nursing/physician staff for correct intervention. Assist physicians, nurses and technologist staff with exams and/or procedures. Clerical duties include patient scheduling, patient registration, routing documents, and other tasks as assigned. May perform vitals checks, blood draws, intramuscular injections, and subcutaneous injections on patients. This is a Full-time benefit role with a Monday-Friday schedule. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Take accurate patient vital signs and record them in the patients charts and/or electronic medical records system; for patient flow and accurate encounter documentation. Give intramuscular and subcutaneous injections, draw blood, and/or collect / label / route / test specimens as needed. Accurately maintain and record patient calendars and records. Work with staff to facilitate scheduling of diagnostic testing and to obtain insurance authorizations as required. Stock and maintain all supply levels for assigned area; order and restock following site guidelines / protocols. Organize and assist patient flow through the clinic area. Work with all levels of medical office staff. Assist in obtaining patient's test results and other diagnostic records for physicians and/or nurses. Coordinate consultation services or imaging studies for the patients as specified by management and/or clinical staff. Support physicians / nurses with procedures as needed; may include set up of tools / equipment, assistance with procedures, and clean up. Identify and communicate important issues or problems to management. Maintain a clean, safe and compliant laboratory space. Decontaminate equipment, tools, and exam / procedure rooms using the designated products and procedures. Attend and participate in meetings, seminars, and training as required. Comply with all company practice, policies and procedures. Complete all tasks and projects as assigned. Comply with all HIPAA guidelines, confidently guidelines, and safety guidelines for a laboratory / clinical environment. Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and exercise universal precautions when dealing with all patients and exams. Minimum Qualifications, Education and Experience Requires a High School Diploma or GED, Vocational Nursing License and Diploma, and appropriate state licensure / permits. Proficient medical terminology knowledge, basic computer skills, and proficient mathematical skills (i.e. ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide, and calculate decimals and fractions) are also a must. CPR certification is required. Excellent public relation, verbal and written communication, and interpersonal skills are required. Effective time management skills, clerical skills, excellent phone etiquette, attention to detail, and the ability to handle moderately complex assignments under minimal supervision are essential. The ability to interact effectively with doctors, patients, vendors, peers, staff, and management are also needed.
