Job Summary:

Leominster Center for Excellence Innovation High School is seeking a
dedicated special education teacher to become part of a caring and committed community
of educators. Our school employs an advisory structure with classes of 12-15 students. Our
students engage in academic courses, project-based learning, and internships.

Performance Expectations and Responsibilities:
* Participate in the Individual Education Program (IEP) process by attending IEP
meetings, working collaboratively with IEP team members, completing and preparing
IEP paperwork, and delivering instruction in a meaningful and appropriate way to
enable students to progress toward goals outlined in the IEP.Work with students to
develop skills, such as organizational and time management abilities, and effective
study habits
* Develop individualized lesson plans that meet the criteria for specially designed
instruction
* Effectively collaborate with administration, teachers, special education, and other
school personnel to facilitate the daily operations of the school.
* Maintain records as required
* Maintain confidentiality
* Adhere to laws, policies, procedures, and ethical standards of the field and contribute
to a positive and safe school culture
* Maintain a kind and caring demeanor, and a positive attitude while reinforcing
standards for behavior and academic performance.
* Be adaptable and able to work effectively and calmly in a dynamic environment.
* Take initiative to proactively problem-solve and share ideas
* Prioritize the needs of the students and the best interest of the whole school.
* Seek and effectively respond to coaching, evaluation, and constructive criticism.
* Provide direct service to students with disabilities, consult with other staff on student
and educational issues, work in inclusion and resource classrooms
* Communicate routinely with parents and other school personnel
* Perform duties to keep classroom area neat, clean, and safe
* Administer appropriate educational assessments to determine eligibility for special
education and to gather data for the development of the IEP
* Complete Progress Reports.
* Provide direct instruction to students.
