Leon D. DeMatteis Construction is looking for multiple Project Assistant Superintendents to work on current and future projects in the New York Metropolitan area.

Qualifications:

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and project specifications.
• Must have a valid supervisor SST card.
• Degree in accredited industry-related curriculum or equivalent experience.
• Previous experience on large-scale projects valued at $50 million . Preferred not required.
• 5 years of field experience. (Experience should include some supervisory responsibility as a foreman, tradesman, and/or assistant superintendent).
• Knowledge of basic computer applications and software such as MS Office and constructed related programs.
• Well-developed communication, interpersonal, organizational, leadership and teamwork skills are required.
• Experience working on government agency commercial projects is preferred but not required.
• Ability to safely navigate various conditions presented on a construction job site. Including but not limited to climbing ladders & scaffolding, walking in cluttered areas, bad weather, hazardous areas, dark conditions, uneven surfaces, etc.

Responsibilities Include but not limited to:

• Responsible for effective field coordination, quality control, job site safety, and day-to-day supervision of subcontracted workforces through all construction project phases.
• Monitor and analyze submittals, specifications, addendums, RFIs/NODs, blueprints, and any other associated documents to comply with job site requirements.
• Update project documents as a result of design changes, RFI, bulletins, etc…
• Evaluate and comprehend various jobsite schedules in comparison to the current field activities and be able to calculate the status of each trade.
• Maintain daily timekeeping and construction activity records such as pre-shift meetings, toolbox talks, extra work tickets, delivery receipts/schedules, two-week look ahead, and incident reports.
• Responsible for job site orientation and personnel badging
• Assist project superintendent with job site field meetings.
• Monitor subcontractor delivery of materials and job site storage. Make sure trades are conforming to all safety standards and are following the project’s specifications, drawings, and approved submittals.
• Assist in project closeout and monitoring of punch lists, non-conformance reports, and warranties/guarantees.

Salary Range:

• Desired salary range $80,000-$130,000 (flexible depending on years of experience)
