Tetra Tech’s commitment to hiring the best talent in the industry and helping them thrive professionally is stronger than ever. We are currently seeking an Environmental Scientist (Mid-level) to support our growing renewable energy practice in New York State and the Northeastern United States.

 

The ideal candidate shall be a self-motivated with 3 – 5 years of experience conducting natural resource assessments and generating the resulting deliverables (wetlands, T&E species, avian surveys, etc.).The candidate will be involved in many aspects of renewable energy site development efforts, including feasibility studies, local and state permitting, field investigation and project/contract management.The candidate is expected to be skilled technical writer. Projects are anticipated to include renewable energy and environmental due diligence projects.

 

Your Role:

·Conducting wetland delineations pursuant to US Army Corps of Engineers Protocols.

·Conducting Avian studies (winter raptor, forest raptor and/or breeding bird surveys).

·Permitting support.

·Client communications.

·Report writing and proposal preparation.

 

Qualifications:

·Minimum of an associates degree in Biology, Environmental Science or a closely related field

·3 - 5 years of professional experience.

·ArcGIS online/pro desktop experience is a plus.

·Prior USACE Wetlands delineation experience and avian studies experience is a plus.

·Prior experience working with renewable energy projects, electrical infrastructure, environmental. investigation/remediation, and environmental due diligence a plus.

·Skilled in technical report writing. A writing sample may be requested.

·The candidate must work well in a team setting and have very good communication skills with clients.

·Proficiency with a variety of computer programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, AutoCAD) is required.

·A pre-employment drug screen in compliance with federal regulations is required, along with a physical if needed.

·Must possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record without restrictions.

 

Compensation:

Salary commensurate with experience.

Salary Range: $63,000 - $70,000 yr.

 

Pay Range - There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience and demonstrated work experience in the above role; skills, certifications, and competencies that align to the specified role; geographic location; and education, as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position.
