LEWISTON PUBLIC SCHOOLS is Hiring a RTI/MTSS Coordinator/Interventionist - Farwell Elementary School Near Lewiston, ME

SUMMARY: The Response to Intervention (RTI) Coordinator/Interventionist will be responsible for helping to identify, support and monitor students eligible for interventions through the multi-tiered systems of support. This position will provide support to assess student proficiency, identify specific areas of ability, deficiency and strength and prescribe an appropriate individualized intervention plan. The position may provide some individual and small group Tier II and III interventions to students and may provide support and coaching for Tier 1 classroom intervention. They will implement all components of the RTI system as outlined by state law and district policies and procedures.
Salary Range: $40,500-$74,167Responsibilities
  • Implement all components of the RTI system as outlined by state law and district policies and procedures.
  • Schedule and facilitate student support meetings.
  • Help identify and support students eligible for intervention services using data to place students in appropriate intervention
  • Group students with similar needs for instruction.
  • Collaborate and communicate the intervention progress with the general education teachers, interventionists, parents, outside agencies and the special education department to address individual needs.
  • Collect and maintain intervention data, such as: referrals, meeting minutes, intervention history and progress monitoring, communication with stakeholders.
  • Manage the school-based data management collection and reporting
  • Attend and present school-based information at district-level RTI meetings.
  • Supervise and monitor the fidelity of interventions.
  • Train staff on interventions as well as the RTI process
  • Design and lead high-quality, engaging, research based academic interventions.
  • Collaborate with district and school teams at each tier of MTSS to design and implement instruction/interventions/progress monitoring tools.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher and 3 years teaching experience in an educational setting.
  • Be able to maintain a state licensure for teaching
  • Experience maintaining data
  • Deep knowledge of research based interventions and progress monitoring tools.
  • Demonstrates understanding of Multi-Tiered Systems of Support and evidence-based interventions at each tier.
  • Demonstrate an ability to work effectively and collaboratively with diverse students, staff and community populations.
  • Maintain the integrity of confidential information relating to students and families.
  • Experience developing and leading professional development.
  • Experience working with students with exceptional needs, including those who may display challenging behavior.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and oral/written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and computer competencies such as Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Google Sheets, PowerSchool, Jot form and Performance Matters.
  • Experience using NWEA, Ellevation and computer based intervention programs preferred.
