About Our TeamThe Public Safety Special Investigative Unit (SIU) is comprised of former law enforcement experts, sworn and civilian, who leverage the full suite of LexisNexis solutions and data offerings to provide real-time investigative insight for LexisNexis customers. The Public Safety Special Investigative Unit (SIU), also serves to work with the sales team by analyzing data and monitoring production, building best practices, procedures and supporting functions required to maintain the quality and timely delivery of information. The SIU team aids law enforcement during critical incidents and major investigations and is available to provide support remotely or onsite, when applicable.
About The RoleThis position exists to provide support customers in the role of Geolocation Analyst. This analyst will bridge the gap between customer requirements and production outcome as a subject matter expert on LexisNexis TraX solutions within the Special Investigations Unit (SIU). The Public Safety SIU is comprised of former law enforcement experts who leverage the LexisNexis solutions and data offering to provide real-time investigative insight for LexisNexis customers. The role of Geolocation Analyst requires a highly skilled and proficient user of TraX resources. The analyst will use geolocation mapping and pattern analysis investigative processes to aid law enforcement in using TraX resources and demonstrate best practices. Analysts take accountability for assisting students on their geolocation investigative journey, post-training, using TraX products and services.
Responsibilities
  • Analyzing call detail records and other forms of geolocation data, provided by customers, to provide actionable insight to aid in criminal investigations
  • Leveraging the LexisNexis TraX solution to create reports, and demonstrative aids for investigative and prosecutorial purposes
  • Providing hands on case assistance to customers during multi-day instructor led training classes
  • Testifying as an expert witness in criminal trials in call detail record and mobile device geolocation analysis
  • Testing and evaluate new features, products and processes to support internal and external teams
  • Communicating complex processes in a simple, easy to understand manner
  • Preparing for training classes by testing training software and partnering with the Trainer on all class details
  • Driving a high level of engagement with training attendees
  • Working directly with sales team to support product understanding, implementation and best practices.
  • Maintaining positive customer relationship though detailed analysis of large data sets
  • Operating professionally and effectively, often without direct supervision, while conducting high-quality analysis, data development, capability briefs, and reach-back support seamlessly across diverse analytic and technical teams
Requirements
  • Law enforcement background.
  • Minimum 4 year's experience in call detail record data analysis
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, analytics, mathematics or related field.
  • Public Safety and/or regulatory government experience is preferred
  • Demonstrated competence in application of logic to problems
  • Demonstrated competence in research and problem resolution
  • Strong organizational, prioritizing and time management skills
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Experience in managing large customer facing solutions
  • Proficient in Google Earth Pro, PowerPoint, Word and Excel
  • Ability to work as an effective team member and independently
  • Preferred experience in LexisNexis suite of solutions
  • On call as needed for exigent case assistance
  • Periodic travel is required for 50% of the time for on-site training and other events, such as testimony.
Physical and/or logical access to criminal justice information is an essential function of this role. The successful candidate will be required to pass both the standard company background check for all employees and an enhanced criminal background check conducted by the Company’s state and local law enforcement partners conducted in compliance with the FBI’s Criminal Justice Information System (“CJIS”) security policy. Employees in this role may also be subject to ongoing criminal background checks as required by the Company’s state and local law enforcement partners. Candidates and/or employees who are not certified by state and local law enforcement to access criminal justice information will not be able to perform the essential functions of this role.
