JOB TITLE:
Maintenance - Painter
LOCATION OF JOB:
East or West Leyden High Schools
REPORTS TO:
Foremen and Building and Grounds Supervisor
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Certification of good health by a licensed physician.
2. Must have general knowledge of all phases of building maintenance.
3. Must have successful experience in painting/decorating either in
private fields or as a maintenance worker in school district.
4. Must be available for emergency situations.
5. Must have a valid driver’s license as required by law.
6. Any alternatives to the above as may be acceptable and appropriate.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Ability to speak in a clear and understandable manner and write legibly.
2. Ability to lift in excess of 100 pounds.
3. Ability to stand or walk for the entire workday.
4. Ability to work at various heights.
5. Ability to work in confined areas.
6. Ability to supervise individuals.
7. Ability to be available for emergency situations.
8. Ability to be aware of the security of the students, staff, and school
property.
9. Ability to meet daily attendance requirements.
10. Ability to be available for overtime assignments.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Assume primary responsibilities for all painting and decorating.
2. Responsible for and supervise all helpers under his/her direction.
3. Recommend supplies and equipment for purchase and maintain the
inventory of district-owned hand tools, equipment, hardware,
materials, and supplies directly related to his/her usage.
4. Estimate costs of painting-decorating projects in terms of labor,
material, and overhead as requested by the Building and Grounds
Supervisor and/or Foreman.
5. Examine district-owned facilities on a regular basis for purposes of
preventive maintenance and report findings to Building and Grounds
Supervisor and/or Foreman.
6. Responsible for maintenance of tools and equipment to insure safe,
clean, and efficient operation.
7. Assist as needed for snow removal.
8. Perform any additional duties as assigned by the Foreman, and/or
Building and Grounds Supervisor.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $28.55 per hour
